Have a child starting in Reception in September 2026? Or perhaps a child who's looking to start Nursery? Come along to our Open Morning next week and meet our dedicated staff and experience our wonderful school.
In Maths, Red Kites have been adding and subtracting ones, tens and one hundreds. They've used lots of practical resources to support their learning!
In art on Friday, Robins explored the work of the artist Mark Rothko. They discussed his use of colour and the way his pictures made them feel. They then talked about how they were feeling and selected colours to create their own pictures in the same style.
Red Kites have been active in PE working on their static and dynamic balance skills.

We've been engaging in lots of outdoor learning, starting off by playing instruction games as we learnt that instructions are a "guide". The children were given 2/3 instructions in sequence for them to demonstrate when we said "go". The children demonstrated good listening to instructions by jumping, hopping and clapping in sequence. We then listened to our instructions to help make a reef knot using laces. The children demonstrated great listening skills to follow the guide on how to move the rope in a way to create the knot. We have also been exploring different textures of natural objects. We have been on treasure hunts to find our resources, identify their texture and we have been practicing weaving the natural objects into natural bamboo frames and creating hedgehogs.
In outdoor learning this week, we used what we have learnt about tying knots and put it into action. We collected natural resources and used our knot skills to create "magic wands, paintbrushes" and even a "wind detector". The children worked very hard on their creations and demonstrated great team work.
What a busy first few weeks back! After settling in, Red Kites have been busy reading in the library; Robins have been busy telling their friends about the items they have brought in and also colour mixing!
